What are FAMU's entrance requirements?

1. Coursework:

FAMU requires a specific set of high school courses, including:

- 4 units of English (major emphasis on literature and three with substantial writing requirements)

- 4 units of Math (to include Algebra, Geometry, and a higher-level math course)

- 3 units of Natural Science (including two with laboratory components)

- 3 units of Social Science (with American History, World History, American Government, and Economics)

- 2 units of the same foreign language

- 2 elective units from courses in the previously listed subjects or fine arts, humanities, or computer science

2. GPA:

FAMU considers both your weighted and unweighted GPA for admission. Generally, a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.33 is required for first-time-in-college applicants. However, your weighted GPA may be higher due to honors, AP, or IB courses, and that can positively impact your evaluation.
