How do I decide if I should double major?

I'm thinking about applying to college as a psychology major, but I'm also very interested in computer science. Is it feasible to double major in these two subjects, or would I be better off pursuing one as a minor? What factors should I consider when deciding whether or not to double major? Thanks for any guidance!

Hi there! You've raised an interesting question, and I'm glad to hear that you're thinking about your academic path. Pursuing a double major in psychology and computer science can be feasible, but it depends on a few factors such as your workload capacity and how your college of choice structures their program requirements.

When deciding whether or not to double major, consider factors like your personal interests, future career goals, and the time commitment required. For example, if you're passionate about both subjects and plan to pursue a career that combines the two, a double major might be the best choice. On the other hand, if you're more focused on one field and just want to gain some knowledge in the other, a minor might be better suited for you.

Also, check the program requirements and course offerings of your target colleges. Some schools may allow you to easily double major, while others may make it difficult due to scheduling or unit constraints. A double major can be a great way to challenge yourself and broaden your knowledge, but it's important to ensure that you don't overcommit and potentially sacrifice academic performance in the process. Best of luck!
