California colleges still accepting applications - Where to look?

I'm a little late to the game and was wondering which California colleges might still be accepting applications. Does anyone know where I can find a list or could suggest some colleges to research? Appreciate the help!

No worries, it's not too late to apply to some colleges in California! While most application deadlines for the UC and Cal State schools have passed, there are still a variety of options available.

Many smaller private and community colleges may have later deadlines or rolling admissions, meaning they continue to accept applications until they fill their class. Here are some suggestions to look out for:

1. Check each college's admissions webpage: Many colleges will have this information prominently displayed on their website, particularly if the deadline has not passed yet. You can make a list of California colleges that interest you and visit their websites to find out if they are still accepting applications.

2. Use the Common App or Coalition App: Both the Common Application and Coalition Application have filters that allow you to search for colleges based on various criteria, including deadlines. You can visit their respective websites, create a free account, and use their college search tools to filter the institutions in California that are still accepting applications.

3. Research local community colleges: Community colleges typically have a more flexible application timeline and don't require lengthy essays. You can start there and then plan to transfer to a four-year institution, if that's your goal! Transferring from a community college to a UC or Cal State school is quite common, and there are programs (such as the UC Transfer Admission Guarantee, or TAG) that can help facilitate this process.

4. Explore extension programs or non-traditional programs: Some schools, like UCLA Extension or UC Berkeley Extension, offer classes and programs for continuing education or professional development. These might be a good option if you can't find a traditional four-year university still accepting applications.

Remember that each college has its own application requirements, so make sure to review these carefully before submitting your application. Best of luck, and I hope you find a college in California that's a great fit for you!
