Is a 25 on the ACT a good score?

I just got my ACT scores back, and I got a 25. I'm not sure if that's good enough for the schools I'm applying to. Can anyone give me an idea of how competitive this score is?

A 25 on the ACT is generally considered a good score, as it places you in approximately the 75th percentile of test-takers nationally. However, the competitiveness of your ACT score depends on the specific colleges you're applying to and their average admitted ACT scores.

You should research the average ACT scores for admitted students at the schools on your list. Many colleges provide this information directly on their admissions websites, or you can look up admissions statistics on resources like CollegeVine or CollegeBoard. If your ACT score falls within or above the middle 50% range of a school's admitted students, your score will likely be competitive for that school.

That said, it's essential to remember that colleges typically use a holistic admissions process, so your ACT score is just one aspect of your application. Your grades, course rigor, extracurricular activities, and essays will also play a significant role in your chances of admission.

If your score ends up being on the lower end for the schools you're applying to, you might consider retaking the test to improve your score or focusing on the other aspects of your application to compensate for a lower ACT score. In either case, make sure to present the strongest application possible to showcase your abilities and achievements.
