When should I start studying for the SAT?

I'm a junior and I'm starting to think about taking the SAT. When should I start studying for it? And what resources do you recommend? Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi there! It's great that you're starting to think about the SAT early in your junior year. In general, it's a good idea to begin studying for the SAT at least 3-6 months before your planned test date. This will give you ample time to familiarize yourself with the test format, learn the necessary concepts, and practice test-taking strategies. You may want to adjust the timeline based on your current level of preparedness and how much improvement you're aiming for.

As for resources, there are quite a few options available. For starters, you can use the College Board's official SAT practice materials, which include free practice tests and personalized study plans. These resources are available on their website and through their partnership with Khan Academy. Additionally, you might want to consider purchasing an SAT prep book, such as the Official SAT Study Guide or books from reputable test prep companies like Kaplan, Princeton Review, or Barron's. These books typically provide in-depth explanations of the test content, strategies, and practice questions.

Finally, if you feel like you need more guidance and support, you could explore joining a local SAT prep class or working with a tutor. Just remember to stay consistent with your study schedule and practice regularly! Good luck!
