Sports Teams at Harvard?

I'm seriously considering applying to Harvard and I'm curious about their sports scene. Do they have sports teams, and if so, which ones? I'd love to continue playing a sport during college and it would be great if Harvard could accommodate that. Thanks, guys!

Yes, Harvard offers a variety of sports teams for its students! As a member of the Ivy League, Harvard has a strong athletics program encompassing both varsity and club sports.

At the varsity level, Harvard sponsors 42 teams, which is one of the highest numbers among American colleges. These teams compete in NCAA Division I and include sports like basketball, soccer, football, tennis, softball, baseball, track and field, swimming and diving, and many others. You can find the complete list of varsity sports offered by Harvard on the school's athletics website.

In addition to varsity sports, Harvard also offers a wide range of club sports, which are more recreational and typically less competitive than their varsity counterparts. Club sports can be a great option for students who want to continue playing a sport during college without the intense commitment that comes with a varsity team. Some club sports offered at Harvard include ultimate frisbee, rugby, sailing, skiing, and more.

Lastly, there are several intramural sports options where you can participate for fun with other students in your residential house. These sports usually require less of a time commitment and encourage friendly competition within the university community. Common intramural sports include soccer, volleyball, basketball, and flag football.

Overall, Harvard offers a diverse selection of sports teams and opportunities, giving you a good chance of finding a sport that you enjoy and can continue playing during your college years.
