ACT score requirements for University of Maryland?

Hi guys, I'm planning to apply to University of Maryland soon and I was just wondering about their ACT score requirements. Does anyone know what score range they typically accept? Thanks for the help!

While the University of Maryland (UMD) doesn't have specific ACT score requirements, you can gauge the score range of accepted students to better understand where your scores might be competitive. For the Class of 2027, the middle 50% ACT scores for admitted students were between 32 and 35. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below a 32, and another 25% scored above a 35.

However, keep in mind that UMD employs a holistic admissions process, so they'll assess your application bearing in mind various factors, such as GPA, course rigor, essays, extracurricular activities, and more. A strong ACT score can definitely be an advantage, but it's not the only factor that will determine your chances of admission.

If your ACT score falls within or above the middle 50% range, you're more likely to be a competitive applicant at UMD. On the other hand, if your ACT score is slightly below their middle 50%, don't be discouraged—make sure to focus on other aspects of your application, such as writing strong essays and showcasing your extracurricular involvement.
