There are numerous majors available across a wide array of disciplines, some of which include the main categories below:

1. Humanities: These majors focus on culture, language, and human expression. Examples include English, history, philosophy, religion, and foreign languages.

2. Social Sciences: This category examines human behavior, interactions, and societies. Examples of majors in social sciences are psychology, sociology, anthropology, political science, and economics.

3. Natural Sciences: These majors involve the study of the natural world and its processes. Biology, chemistry, physics, astronomy, and geology are some examples of natural science majors.

4. Formal Sciences: Focused on abstract structures and systems, formal sciences include mathematics, statistics, and computer science.

5. Fine/Performing Arts: For those with an artistic talent or passion, majors related to the fine and performing arts might be appealing. Examples include theater, dance, music, film, and various visual arts (such as painting, sculpture, and photography).

6. Engineering: This discipline covers the design, development, and application of technology and functional systems. Examples of engineering majors include civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical, and aerospace engineering.

7. Business: Business majors explore commerce, management, finance, marketing, accounting, entrepreneurship, and other aspects of the business world.

8. Health and Medical Sciences: Focused on human health, these majors include a wide range of degrees related to healthcare, such as nursing, public health, physical therapy, occupational therapy, pharmacy, and nutrition.

9. Education: Education majors prepare individuals to become teachers, administrators, or other professionals in the field of education. Degrees can be pursued in early childhood education, elementary education, secondary education, special education, and more.

10. Environmental Sciences and Sustainability: These majors focus on the earth's resources and human interaction with the environment. They can include environmental science, environmental policy, sustainable agriculture, wildlife conservation, and marine sciences.

Don't forget that many universities also offer interdisciplinary majors and allow students to create their unique course of study. It's essential to research each college's specific offerings to find the major that aligns with your interests and goals. Moreover, note that some majors might have different names or be combined with other fields depending on the institution.

Once you get to college, you can also consult with professors and academic advisors to determine which major is right for you. Most schools allow you to apply undecided about your major, and it's also usually relatively straightforward to change your major, at least early in your college career, so you have plenty of time to make your decision! Good luck!
