University of Washington SAT averages?

Hey guys! I'm a junior and the University of Washington is one of my top choices. What's the average SAT score for students admitted to UW? I really want to know what I should be aiming for to have a competitive chance. Thanks!

Hello! It's important to note that the University of Washington (UW) is test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle, meaning submitting SAT scores is not required. However, if you still plan on submitting your SAT scores, it's good to know the middle 50% range for admitted students. For the Class of 2027, the middle 50% SAT range was between 1280 and 1490. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1280, and another 25% scored above 1490.

To have a competitive chance, it would be ideal for you to score within or above this range. Aiming for a higher score, like the 75th percentile (1490) or even higher, could potentially strengthen your application. Keep in mind that while test scores are important, college admissions consider various factors such as your GPA, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation. So, focus on building a strong overall application to optimize your chances at UW!

Best of luck with your application and standardized testing preparation!
