RIT early action

Hello! I'm really interested in applying to Rochester Institute of Technology and I was wondering if they offer an Early Action plan. If so, when is the deadline? Additionally, are there any advantages to applying early action at RIT? Thanks, everyone!

No, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) does offer an Early Action (EA) application plan. They do, however, offer two rounds of Early Decision (ED): the first round typically has a deadline of November 1, while the second has a deadline of around January 1.

Applying Early Decision comes with several benefits. First, you'll receive an admissions decision earlier, typically by mid-December if you apply in the first round, or mid-January if you apply in the second round. Finding out sooner can help alleviate some of the stress of waiting for admission results and give you more time to plan for other aspects of the college experience, such as housing and financial aid.

Applying ED can also indeed give you a boost in terms of admissions, as choosing this option shows a high level of enthusiasm for the school. Additionally, there is the simple fact that there are simply more spots available in the class during these rounds.

Unlike EA, however, ED is binding. If you are accepted to RIT ED, you must attend, in contrast to EA which allows you to weigh other offers of admission and financial aid packages. So, make sure RIT is your top choice school before applying ED.

Good luck with your application to RIT!
