Hey everyone! I'm currently preparing for the ACT and I was wondering how many reading passages are typically on the ACT? Trying to make a study plan here.
Hello! On the ACT Reading section, there are a total of 5 passages—three sections each have a long passage and one section has 2 shorter passages. Each long passage is accompanied by 10 questions and the two shorter passages are each accompanied by 5 questions, totaling 40 questions for the whole section.
The passages come from four different categories: Prose Fiction, Social Science, Humanities, and Natural Science. You'll have 35 minutes to complete the Reading section. As you make your study plan, it's important to practice pacing yourself to effectively manage your time while grasping the main points of each passage and answering the questions accurately. Good luck with your preparation!
