Is a 1490 SAT score enough for Ivy League schools?

Hello, I recently took the SAT and got a 1490. I'm interested in applying to Ivy League schools and I'm wondering if my score is good enough, or if I should retake the test to try to improve. I'm feeling a bit anxious about my chances, so any advice would be appreciated!

First of all, congratulations on your 1490 SAT score! That's an excellent achievement. As for your question about whether it's enough for Ivy League schools, the answer is not so straight forward. Ivy League universities have varying SAT score ranges, with 1490 falling on the lower end of the admission scale for some of these institutions.

However, it's important to remember that a high SAT score is just one factor these universities consider, and admissions officers look at the whole student's profile. This includes consideration of factors such as grade point average, extracurricular activities, community involvement, leadership positions, the rigor of your academic coursework, and the general strength of your application materials, such as essays and recommendation letters.

If you feel confident about other areas of your application, a 1490 may be sufficient for some Ivy League schools. However, if you think you can improve your score and wish to maximize your chances, retaking the SAT could be a good decision. Ultimately, weigh all factors and make the decision that feels right for you.
