Hey! I'm considering applying to NJIT (New Jersey Institute of Technology) and was wondering if anyone knows the SAT requirements for their admissions process? I'm currently prepping for the SATs and would love to have a specific goal in mind!
As of the 2024-2025 application cycle, NJIT is test-optional, which means you are not required to submit SAT scores as part of your application. However, if you feel that your SAT score will strengthen your application, you can still choose to submit it. For more detailed guidance on how to navigate test-optional policies, check out this blog post from CollegeVine: https://blog.collegevine.com/does-test-optional-mean-test-optional
If you decide to submit your SAT scores, look at the middle 50% of admitted students' scores for a rough guideline on where your score should ideally land. For NJIT, the middle 50% SAT score range for admitted students is approximately 1190 and 1450. Keep in mind that these scores are a general indicator, and being within or above this range does not guarantee admission, nor does being below this range automatically mean rejection.
As you prepare for the SAT, it's great to have a target score in mind, but also remember that NJIT evaluates applicants holistically by considering multiple factors such as GPA, rigor of courses, extracurricular activities, and so on. So, make sure to invest time and energy into strengthening those other areas of your application as well.
Good luck with your SAT preparation, and application to NJIT!
