Any helpful tips for PSAT prep?

I'm a sophomore and I'll be taking the PSAT in a few months. Can anyone share their top tips for how they studied, or any resources they found helpful to achieve a good score on the PSAT? Thanks in advance!

Here are a few tips and resources to help you prepare for the PSAT:

1. Familiarize yourself with the test format: The digital PSAT consists of two 32-minute Reading and Writing modules, and two 35-minute Math modules. Understanding the test format will help you manage your time effectively.

2. Official study materials: The College Board offers official PSAT practice tests on their website, as well as the Bluebook™ app, which allows you to preview the digital PSAT and take a full-length practice test. Use these resources to get a feel for the types of questions you’ll encounter and practice your test-taking skills under timed conditions.

3. Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers a free, comprehensive PSAT and SAT prep program in partnership with the College Board. You can create a personalized study plan, practice specific skills, and track your progress. Additionally, there are instructional videos and practice exercises in each topic area to deepen your understanding.

4. Review your errors: When you complete practice tests, carefully review your incorrect answers to identify your weaknesses. This will help you target the areas where you need to improve.

5. Build your vocabulary: The PSAT may not have a specific vocab section, but expanding your vocabulary is generally helpful. Read widely and actively build your vocabulary to improve your reading comprehension.

6. Math practice: Strengthen your foundational math skills by practicing various problem types. Focus on understanding math concepts rather than relying on memorization. You can use your calculator on both math modules, but ensure that you have a solid understanding of the underlying math concepts. Practice on websites like Khan Academy or IXL, that offer tailored math practice by topic.

7. Develop test-taking strategies: Learn how to approach different question types and choose the best strategy for each situation. For example, use process of elimination, plugging in answer choices, or making useful guesses when you're unsure of an answer.

8. Time management: Since you have a limited amount of time for each section, practice pacing yourself. Make note of how long you spend on each question so you can allocate your time effectively.

9. Take care of yourself: Prioritize adequate sleep, nutrition, and exercise leading up to the test. This will help you function at your best during the PSAT.

10. Stay consistent: Establish a regular study schedule and stick to it. Consistent, focused practice will lead to more significant improvements than sporadic, last-minute cramming.

Remember to keep a positive attitude, practice consistently, and stay focused on your goals. Good luck on your PSAT preparation!
