How tough is it to get into Florida State?

Hi everyone! I'm thinking about applying to Florida State University but I'm wondering how difficult it is to get in. Can anyone share their experiences applying, such as average GPA or extracurriculars I need to be a competitive applicant?

Florida State University (FSU) is a selective school, and while it's not as tough to get into as the most selective colleges, you'll still need to be a strong applicant. Applications are evaluated within the context of your high school's environment and the opportunities available to you.

For FSU, the average admitted student has an unweighted high school GPA of around 4.72 and a weighted GPA of 4.26. The middle 50% of SAT scores for admitted students is between 1250 and 1380, and the middle 50% of ACT scores for admitted students is between 27 and 31. However, these are just averages, so there will be applicants with lower and higher stats who are admitted.

In terms of extracurriculars, aim to have 8-10 extracurricular activities, but focus on quality over quantity. If possible, be highly involved in a few select activities that demonstrate your passions and leadership abilities.

FSU does use a holistic review process, meaning that while your GPA and test scores are important, other factors may also play a role in the admissions process.

In short, getting into FSU is competitive but achievable with solid academics and a well-rounded application. Good luck!
