New PSAT Format

Hey everyone! I heard that there's a new PSAT format, but I'm not exactly sure what's different about it. Could someone please give me a quick rundown of the changes? Thanks a lot!

Sure, happy to help! As of 2024, the PSAT/NMSQT has transitioned to a fully digital format. Here's a quick rundown of the structure and changes for the digital PSAT/NMSQT:

1. Reading and Writing: The Reading and Writing section consists of two 32-minute modules with a total of 54 questions. You will have about 71 seconds per question. This is a slight change from the old format in terms of timing.

2. Math: The Math section now has two 35-minute modules, with a total of 44 questions. You will have 96 seconds per question, or a little over a minute and a half. Another notable change is that there is no longer a no-calculator section. You can use your calculator on both math modules.

3. Total duration: The digital PSAT/NMSQT has a total duration of 134 minutes to complete 98 questions. This makes the digital PSAT/NMSQT the same length as the digital SAT, which was a change from the past when the PSAT/NMSQT was shorter.

To help you get familiar with the new format, the Bluebook™ app allows you to preview the digital PSAT/NMSQT and even take a full-length practice test. This is a great resource to prepare for the new digital format and build your confidence before the actual test day.

Good luck preparing for the digital PSAT/NMSQT!
