Georgia Tech admissions requirements?

Hey guys! Georgia Tech is one of my top choices and I was wondering if anyone knows what the admission requirements are? I'd really appreciate any information on GPA, test scores, and course requirements. Thanks in advance!

Hey! Georgia Tech is a great choice with strong programs in engineering, technology, and other fields. Here's a rundown of the admission requirements:

1. GPA: While Georgia Tech does not have a specific minimum GPA, most admitted students have a competitive high school GPA, around 3.6 (unweighted). There's no exact cutoff, however, as their admissions process is holistic. Challenging yourself with rigorous courses (AP, IB, or dual enrollment) is also important, to demonstrate your academic readiness for college-level work.

2. Test scores: While many schools are operating under test-optional policies, Georgia Tech requires all students to submit either an SAT or ACT score. The middle 50% range for SAT scores is 1390-1540, and for the ACT, it's 31-35. Generally, scoring within or above this range would make you more competitive.

3. High school course requirements:

- 4 units of English

- 4 units of mathematics (including algebra, geometry, and precalculus or higher)

- 4 units of science (including two units with a lab component)

- 3 units of social studies

- 2 units of the same foreign language

- 0.5 unit of health and 0.5 unit of physical education

Optional but recommended:

- 2 additional units of the same foreign language or American Sign Language

- 2 rigorous elective units (preferably in math, science, and related subjects)

Aside from the above, Georgia Tech will also consider your extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation, as these can showcase your unique qualities and how you would contribute to their community, beyond your academic qualifications.
