Rochester Institute of Technology SAT requirements?

Hey everyone, I'm pretty interested in applying to Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), and I was wondering if anyone knows about the current SAT requirements? Have they gone test-optional? Thanks in advance for any insights!

Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has adopted a test-optional policy for the 2024-2025 application cycle, which means that submitting an SAT (or ACT) score is not required, and you can choose whether or not to include your test scores in your application.

If you think your scores will strengthen your application and provide additional context for your academic performance, you can choose to submit them. On the other hand, if you feel your test scores do not accurately represent your capabilities, you can opt not to submit them.

If you're unsure whether or not you should submit a test score, I'd recommend checking out this blog post from CollegeVine, which provides detailed guidance on how to navigate test-optional policies: https://blog.collegevine.com/does-test-optional-mean-test-optional/. For reference, the middle 50% of accepted students at RIT have an SAT score between 1280-1430 - this information could be helpful as you make your decision.

Whether or not you submit a test score, the admissions committee at RIT will evaluate your application holistically, by taking into account your grades, coursework, extracurriculars, and other factors when making their decision. So, regardless of your test scores, make sure these other areas are also strong. Good luck!
