Which senior history classes are best for colleges?

Hey guys, I was wondering which history classes I should consider taking during my senior year. I'm part of the AP curriculum, but I'm open to other options too. Ideally, I want to take a course that'll be well-regarded by colleges. Any suggestions would be awesome!

Choosing a history class during your senior year really depends on your interests and how the course aligns with your academic and career goals. Since you're part of the AP curriculum, I would recommend looking into some of these AP History courses, if your school offers them:

1. AP United States History: Covers American history from pre-Columbian Native American societies to the present, while focusing on major themes and events in U.S. history.

2. AP World History: Modern: This course covers the chronological development of human civilizations, by focusing on six distinct periods (starting ~1200 CE) and examining different regions' interconnectedness.

3. AP European History: Provides an in-depth study of European history from the Renaissance to the present, focusing on intellectual, cultural, political, diplomatic, social, and economic history.

4. AP Comparative Government and Politics: A comparative study of different political systems and their structures, including democracies, authoritarian regimes, and communist systems.

5. AP Human Geography: This course focuses on the study of global patterns and processes that shape human understanding, use, and alteration of the Earth's surface.

Remember that colleges value students who challenge themselves academically, so taking an AP History course can be a strong choice. However, it's crucial to balance course rigor with your overall course load and personal interests. If you're passionate about a specific period or region, you may find a non-AP elective that aligns more closely with your interests.

Ultimately, you should choose a class that suits your academic goals and genuinely interests you, to not only impress colleges, but also ensure you have an enjoyable experience. You might consider asking your current history teacher for advice on which course would be the best fit for you.

Good luck with your course selection!
