UofSC SAT Required Scores?

Hi guys! I'm planning on applying to the University of South Carolina (UofSC) next year but I'm not totally sure what their SAT score requirements are. Can someone share some information on the average SAT scores for admitted students or the minimum scores needed for consideration? Thanks!

Hi there! The University of South Carolina (UofSC) does not have a strict minimum SAT score requirement for applicants. However, you can get an idea of the scores that are typically competitive by looking at the middle 50% range of admitted students. For UofSC, the middle 50% SAT score range for students admitted to the class of 2027 was 1200-1380. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1200, and 25% scored above 1380.

It's important to note that UofSC uses a holistic review process, taking into consideration factors such as grades, rigor of coursework, extracurricular activities, and essays, along with test scores. So, while having a score within or above the middle 50% range can be helpful, it doesn't guarantee admission. On the flip side, having a slightly lower score doesn't automatically disqualify you, as other factors can still make your application stand out.

To maximize your chances of admission, aim for a score within or above the middle 50% range, but remember that other aspects of your application are also important in the admissions process. Good luck with your application!
