Hello! I just got my ACT scores back and I scored a 34. I'm extremely happy with my score, but I'm wondering if it's competitive enough for Ivy League schools or if I should consider retaking it. Has anyone with a similar score gotten into an Ivy League? Thanks!
Congratulations on your 34 ACT score! That's an excellent achievement. A 34 is generally considered competitive for Ivy League schools, as it places you within the 25th to 75th percentile of admitted students at most of these institutions.
However, it's important to keep in mind that the Ivy League admissions process is holistic, which means that your entire application – including your GPA, extracurriculars, essays, and recommendation letters – will be taken into consideration. A strong ACT score represents just one piece of the puzzle.
Since your 34 ACT score is already in the competitive range, it may be worthwhile to focus on other aspects of your application, such as strengthening your extracurricular involvement or polishing your essays. That being said, if you feel that you can significantly improve your score, you may decide to retake the test. Good luck!
