Is an 1110 PSAT Score Good?

I'm a high school junior who scored an 1110 on the PSAT. Is this score considered good? How much does it relate to my potential SAT score, and do I need to significantly improve it if I'm aiming for higher scores?

An 1110 PSAT score can be considered average depending on your goals and the colleges you're interested in applying to. Generally, scores above 1000 are seen as average, while scores below 1000 are considered below average. That being said, if you're aiming for more selective schools or scholarships, an 1110 PSAT score could be seen as below average for those specific colleges or programs.

To roughly convert your 1110 PSAT score to an estimated SAT score, you can add around 30 points, which comes out to about an 1140. This, however, is not a precise conversion, and your actual SAT score may be higher or lower than this estimate based on your test-taking abilities and preparation on the day of the exam.

If you're aiming for higher scores, you should strive to improve your PSAT score before taking the SAT. By investing time in studying and practicing for the test, you can target areas where you need improvement and increase your chances of scoring higher. The College Board offers free resources, such as Khan Academy, which can be helpful in test preparation.

Additionally, as you move forward, remember that while SAT scores can play an important role in college admissions, they are only one part of your entire application. Your grades, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation all contribute to presenting a well-rounded application to colleges. Focusing on showcasing your strengths in all aspects of your application will help improve your overall chances of success.
