SAT requirements for the UMass Amherst?

Hi all, I'm in the process of creating my college list and I'd like to include the UMass Amherst. What are their SAT requirements and average scores? Thanks in advance!

Hello! The University of Massachusetts Amherst is currently test-optional, which means submitting your SAT scores is optional, and you won't be penalized for not sending them. However, if you feel that your SAT score is strong and may enhance your application, you can choose to submit it.

To give you an idea of the average scores at UMass Amherst, the middle 50% of SAT scores for admitted students in recent admissions cycles is around 1330-1490.

Keep in mind that these numbers are from previous years and provide a general idea of what the incoming class's academic profile looks like. Given the test-optional admissions process, there may be more variability in the scores of incoming classes.

If you decide to apply to UMass Amherst without submitting test scores, remember that the other aspects of your application, like your GPA, coursework rigor, extracurricular activities, and essays, will have more weight. Therefore, it's crucial to make sure those areas are strong to ensure a competitive application.

Good luck as you create your college list and work on your applications!
