UMich Ann Arbor ACT Scores?

Hi there! I'm considering applying to the University of Michigan's Ann Arbor campus, and I was wondering what kind of ACT scores they typically accept? Additionally, do they only consider the highest score or do they use a superscore method? Thanks in advance!

Hi! University of Michigan - Ann Arbor is a highly selective school with competitive admissions. To give you an idea of the typical ACT scores accepted, the middle 50% of admitted students have scores between 31 and 34. This means that 25% of admitted students have scores below 31, and another 25% have scores above 34. Keep in mind that while test scores are an important part of the application, they are considered alongside other factors like GPA, rigor of coursework, extracurriculars, essays, and recommendations.

Regarding the superscore method, UMich does superscore the ACT. This means that they take the highest individual subscores across multiple test dates and calculate a new composite score. So, if you have taken the ACT more than once, be sure to report all your scores, and the admissions team will consider your highest subscores from different dates to create the best possible composite score for your application.

Good luck with your application! Make sure to also focus on other aspects of your application to present a well-rounded and compelling story to the admissions team.
