Does NJIT require SAT scores?

Hi there! I'm thinking about applying to NJIT and wondering if they require SAT scores for their admissions process. If so, is there a minimum score needed for acceptance?

Yes, as of the 2024-2025 application cycle, the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) does require SAT scores for their admissions process. However, they do not have an absolute minimum score for acceptance. Instead, they review applications holistically, taking into account factors such as your high school GPA, coursework, and other aspects of your application, in addition to your test scores.

That being said, it can be helpful to look at the SAT score ranges of admitted students to get an idea of where you might fall within the applicant pool. The middle 50% SAT scores for admitted students at NJIT are typically between 1200 and 1370. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1200, 25% scored above 1370, and the remaining 50% scored within that range. If your SAT scores fall within or above this middle 50% range, you are more likely to be competitive in the admissions process at NJIT.

Keep in mind that admissions can still be competitive, and having an SAT score within the middle 50% range does not guarantee admission. It's essential to have a strong overall application, which includes a solid academic record, extracurricular activities, and well-written essays. Good luck with your application!
