Typical SAT breaks and timing

So I'm taking the SAT soon, and I'd like to know what I should expect in terms of timing and breaks during the test. How many breaks are there and how long are they? Also, how much time is given for each section?

The SAT has undergone some structural changes and is now fully digital as of Spring 2024. Here's a breakdown of the test format, timing, and breaks for the digital SAT:

The test is divided into four modules, with two modules each for Reading and Writing, and two modules for Math. The timing for each module is as follows:

- Reading and Writing: Two 32-minute modules with a total of 54 questions. You'll have about 71 seconds per question.

- Math: Two 35-minute modules with a total of 44 questions. You'll have 96 seconds per question, or a little over a minute and a half.

The total duration of the digital SAT is 134 minutes, with a total of 98 questions.

Regarding breaks, you can expect a short break, usually around 10 minutes, between the second Reading and Writing module and the first Math module. As for specific test-day procedures and additional breaks, these may depend on the testing center where you'll be taking the exam. Make sure to arrive early on test day and follow the instructions of the test proctor to ensure a smooth experience.

Remember to bring your photo ID, admission ticket, an acceptable calculator, and any other approved materials on test day. Additionally, don't forget to get a good night's sleep before the test and eat a nutritious breakfast to keep your energy and focus at their best during the exam. Good luck!
