UChicago SAT score range?

Hey everyone! I'm considering applying to the University of Chicago, but I'm not entirely sure what their preferred SAT score range is. Can anyone let me know what's a competitive SAT score for UChicago? Thanks in advance!

The University of Chicago is currently test-optional, which means you don't have to submit SAT or ACT scores if you choose not to. The school also practices a "No Harm" testing policy, so if you do submit test scores, they will only be considered if they will positively affect your application. With all that said, it can still be helpful to know the typical SAT score range of admitted students to gauge how competitive your application might be with a specific score.

For the University of Chicago, the middle 50% SAT score range for admitted students is typically between 1510 and 1560. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1510, while another 25% scored above 1560. Keep in mind that these numbers are just to provide a general idea of the score range, and the University of Chicago does take a holistic approach to admissions, which means they consider many other factors in addition to test scores.

If you're within or above this range, your SAT score would likely be considered competitive for UChicago. However, if you choose to apply without test scores due to their test-optional policy, or if your SAT score is below this range, make sure to strengthen other aspects of your application, such as your essays, extracurricular activities, and letters of recommendation, to have a strong overall application.
