Is it okay to take the SAT multiple times?

Hey guys, I've taken the SAT once already and didn't get the score I was hoping for. I'm planning to take it again, but I'm a little worried that colleges might view this negatively. Do they care how many times we take the test? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

Hey there! It's completely normal to take the SAT more than once. In fact, many students do so in order to increase their scores. Most colleges understand that students want to put their best foot forward, and taking the SAT multiple times can help you achieve that. Generally, colleges will consider your highest score when evaluating your application, so you don't have to worry too much about the number of times you take the test. However, it's important not to go overboard with retakes, as repeatedly taking the SAT can become time-consuming and may not result in significant score improvements after a certain point. A good rule of thumb is to take the SAT two or three times, and focus on preparing thoroughly between tests. In the end, remember that standardized test scores are just one aspect of your college application, and there are many other factors that play a role in admissions decisions, which you want to make sure you're spending enough time on. Good luck!
