PSAT in California: is it the same?

Hey everyone! I just moved to California and I'm wondering if there are any differences in the PSAT here compared to other states. Can anyone share their experiences or knowledge about this?

There are no significant differences in the PSAT between states, as the College Board administers the PSAT/NMSQT uniformly across the United States. The content, format, and scoring will be the same in California as in other states. The PSAT is offered to all 10th and 11th-grade students nationwide and is used to qualify students for the National Merit Scholarship program.

One thing to be aware of is that the qualifying scores for the National Merit Scholarship program can vary by state, as different states might have different score cutoffs to determine National Merit Semifinalists. However, this doesn't affect the actual test-taking experience.

The main thing you should do is familiarize yourself with your new school's testing schedule and policies, as each school may have specific test dates and registration deadlines. In addition, make sure to take advantage of the Bluebook™ app or any other official practice materials from the College Board to help you prepare for the PSAT. Good luck!
