UPenn SAT Requirements?

Hi everyone! I'm starting to research colleges and UPenn is definitely one of my top choices. Can anyone tell me about the SAT score requirements for UPenn? I'm looking for info on average scores as well as minimum scores needed for a shot at getting in. Thanks in advance!

For the 2024-2025 application cycle, the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) has a test-optional policy, which means you are not required to submit an SAT or ACT score with your application. However, if you feel that your test scores accurately reflect your academic abilities, you can still submit them as part of your application.

In previous years when standardized test scores were required, UPenn's middle 50% SAT range for admitted students was between 1460 and 1560. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below 1460, while 25% scored above 1560. Keep in mind that these statistics are intended to provide a rough idea of the scores of accepted students, and there isn't an explicit minimum score required for admission.

Admissions at UPenn are highly competitive, and they use a holistic approach when evaluating applications. This means that while test scores can play a role in the decision-making process, your academic performance, extracurricular activities, essays, and letters of recommendation are all crucial components of your application as well.

If you decide to submit your SAT scores, it's essential to remember that a strong application reflects your overall passion, commitment, and potential for success at UPenn. Take time to present an application that emphasizes your unique qualifications, experiences, and interests, and make sure to highlight your potential fit with the university.
