How much do AP tests cost?

Hi! I'm currently a junior and I'm planning on taking several AP tests this year. I need to know how much each AP test costs so I can save up some money. Also, are there any fee waivers or discounts available for students with financial difficulties?

Hello! As of the 2023-2024 school year, each AP test costs $98 per exam for students in the United States, U.S. territories, and Canada. International students outside of these areas will pay $128 per exam. For students participating in the AP Capstone Diploma program, the AP Seminar Exam and the AP Research Exam each cost $146.

If you have financial difficulties, there is assistance available. The College Board offers fee reductions for students who qualify for financial aid, bringing the cost down to $54 per exam for eligible students in the United States. Check with your school's AP coordinator to discuss your eligibility and get more information on how to apply for a fee waiver. Additionally, some states and school districts provide additional financial assistance to help cover the costs, so it's a good idea to reach out to your school counselor or AP coordinator to inquire about any local opportunities for financial support. Best of luck with your AP exams!
