Are there recent changes to the AP Biology exam?

I'm aware that College Board sometimes updates their exams, and I'm taking AP Biology this year. Have there been any major changes to the AP Bio MCQ section recently, or is it relatively the same as previous years?

There haven't been major changes to the AP Biology exam in the past few years. The current format was last updated in 2020, so the structure you'll experience would be the same as that for the students who took it in recent years. The AP Biology exam consists of two sections:

1. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ): There are 60 MCQs that you'll need to answer within 90 minutes. This section is divided into two parts. The first part consists of 30 discrete questions, while the second part has six sets of questions based on various stimulus materials, such as graphs, charts, data tables. Both parts together account for 50% of your total score.

2. Free Response Questions (FRQ): This section consists of 6 FRQs to be answered within 90 minutes. The FRQ section is divided into two long-form questions that require multi-part responses and four short-answer questions. This section also contributes to 50% of your total score.

To successfully prepare for the AP Biology exam, focus on understanding the key concepts, laboratory skills, scientific practices, and data analysis. Reviewing past exams and using current study materials will be crucial for your success. Good luck with your exam preparations!
