What ID should I bring for the SAT?

I'm taking the SAT soon and I'm not sure what kind of ID is acceptable to bring. Can anyone give me some examples of proper ID for the test, and any other tips about test day? Thanks!

Sure, I can help you with that! To take the SAT, you'll need to bring an acceptable form of identification. Here are some examples of proper IDs:

1. Government-issued driver's license or non-driver ID card

2. School ID card with a recognizable photo

3. Government-issued passport (U.S. or international)

4. Government-issued military or national identification card with photo

It's important to note that your ID must be an original document (not a photocopy), have a recognizable photo of you, and have your legal full name that matches the name you provided when registering for the SAT.

In addition to your ID, here are some other tips to prepare for test day:

- Bring your SAT admission ticket: You'll receive a printable admission ticket after you register for the SAT. Print it out and bring it with you on test day.

- Bring an approved calculator: You're allowed to use a calculator on certain portions of the math sections. Make sure your calculator is an approved model, and bring extra batteries just in case.

- Pack some snacks and water: There will be a couple of breaks during the test, so having a light snack and some water can help keep your energy and focus up.

- Dress comfortably and in layers: You cannot predict the temperature of the testing room, so dressing in layers can ensure you're comfortable throughout the test.

- Get a good night's sleep and eat a substantial breakfast: Being well-rested and nourished can help improve your focus and performance.

Lastly, make sure you arrive at the test center early. Arriving early will give you time to check-in and settle in before the test begins. Good luck on your SAT!
