University of Colorado ACT Requirements?

Hey guys! I'm a junior and I've been considering applying to the University of Colorado. I was wondering if any of you could provide some info about their ACT score requirements or if they have any alternative testing options? Thanks in advance!

Hello! The University of Colorado has a few different campuses in the system, but I will assume you're asking about the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder), which is the flagship campus.

For the 2024-2025 application cycle, CU Boulder is test-optional, which means you can choose to submit your ACT score, but it is not required. If you think your ACT score is a strong representation of your academic abilities and could enhance your application, you may want to submit it. However, if you feel that your score does not accurately reflect your potential or could potentially hurt your application, you can opt not to submit it.

To give you an idea of the typical scores of admitted students in previous years, the middle 50% ACT range for CU Boulder was generally around 29-33. This range varies depending on the school you're looking at within CU Boulder. For more in-depth information on the middle 50% ranges, check out their official site here: https://www.colorado.edu/admissions/process/first-year/plan

Keep in mind that these are just general guidelines, and since the University is now test-optional, your admission decision will be based on several factors such as your academic performance, your extracurricular involvement, your personal essay, and your letters of recommendation.

Good luck with your application!
