Hello everyone! I'm a high school junior thinking about applying to Hampton University next year. Does anyone know if Hampton requires the SAT for admission? Any help would be great, thanks!
Hello! Hampton University is conditionally test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle, which means that you are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores if you meet certain criteria. Students with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (Unweighted), or who rank in the top 10 percent of their class, have the option to choose whether or not to submit standardized test scores (SAT or ACT).
In addition, students not submitting test scores must submit at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counselor. Students wishing to be considered for merit based scholarships must submit standardized test scores.
Keep in mind that your high school grades, extracurricular activities, recommendation letters, and essays will play a more significant role in the admissions process without test scores. Good luck with your college application process!
