Mizzou ACT Score Requirements

Hey everyone! I'm a high school junior interested in applying to Mizzou. Does anyone know what ACT scores they typically look for in applicants? I've taken the ACT once, but I'm not sure if my score is competitive enough or if I should try to improve it. Thanks in advance!

Hello! Mizzou, or the University of Missouri, is a moderately selective institution, so it's great that you're considering your ACT scores in terms of your potential application. While Mizzou doesn't have a strict minimum ACT score requirement, it's helpful to look at the scores of admitted students to gauge your competitiveness.

The middle 50% of admitted students at Mizzou typically have ACT scores in the range of 23-30. This means that 25% of students score below 23, while the other 25% score above 30. To be competitive, you would ideally want your ACT score to be within or above this range.

However, Mizzou's admissions process considers other factors in addition to test scores. They will also look at your high school GPA, the rigor of your coursework, and your extracurricular activities. It might be beneficial to focus on strengthening these aspects of your application as well.

If your current ACT score is close to or within the middle 50% range, you might decide not to retake the exam and instead concentrate on other application components. However, if your score is significantly below the range, it could be worth considering a retake to improve your chances.

Good luck with your applications!
