Do Ivy League schools care about AP exam scores?

Hello! I'm stressing about my AP exam scores and how they'll impact my chances of getting into an Ivy League school. Do these schools value AP exam scores as much as other aspects of the application? Should I be prioritizing studying for AP exams, or should I focus on my GPA and extracurriculars? Thanks for any advice!

Hey there! I understand how stressful this process can be, especially when you're aiming for Ivy League schools. From my experience with my child, who is currently attending an Ivy League college, I can tell you that AP exam scores are important, but they're not as highly prioritized as your GPA and extracurriculars.

While strong AP exam scores can showcase your academic abilities, it's essential to maintain a high GPA throughout high school and demonstrate involvement in meaningful activities. Colleges want to see that you're taking rigorous courses and actively participating in the areas you're passionate about.

If you have the time and energy to study for your AP exams without neglecting your other responsibilities, go for it! But if you're facing an overwhelming schedule, I'd recommend focusing on maintaining the best GPA possible and investing time in your extracurriculars. Ivy League schools are interested in well-rounded applicants who excel academically and have unique interests.

Remember to strike a balance and manage your time well. Good luck with your college applications!
