Do colleges accept ACT superscores?

Hey there! I've taken the ACT multiple times, and I'm curious to know if most colleges accept superscores or if they need all of the scores from my individual test dates. Are there any colleges out there that don't accept superscores at all? Thanks for any info!

Yes, many colleges do accept ACT superscores. Superscoring means they take the highest section scores across all of your test dates and recalculate a new composite score. This practice can work to your advantage, as combining your best performances in each section can often lead to a higher composite score than you received from any single test administration.

However, not all colleges superscore the ACT. Some colleges require that you send all of your test scores, and they will evaluate them holistically, by considering both individual section scores and composite scores from each test date. Or, some colleges may only look at your highest composite score from a single test date without considering section scores across multiple dates.

The policies on ACT superscoring vary by institution, so it's essential to research the specific colleges you're interested in to learn about their ACT superscoring policies. You can typically find this information on their admissions website or by reaching out to their admissions office. Be sure to check each school's policy so you know what to expect when submitting your test scores.

Keep in mind that even though some colleges may accept ACT superscores, they still require that you submit scores from all test administrations. It's essential to follow their guidelines and send the required test scores to avoid any complications in the application process. Good luck!
