Ivy League SAT Superscoring: How does it work?

Hello all! I'm starting the college application process and aiming for some Ivy League schools. Does anyone know if Ivy League schools typically superscore the SAT or do they require all my scores from individual test dates? I just want to make sure I understand their policies. Thanks!

Hello! Ivy League schools generally superscore the SAT, which means they will look at your highest section scores across all the test dates you've reported and combine the best scores to create a new composite/highest possible score. Each Ivy League school has its own policy when it comes to reporting, but most do recommend or require you to submit all of your SAT scores. They do this to ensure they have a complete picture of your testing history.

That being said, here's a quick overview of the superscoring policies for the Ivy League:

1. Brown University: Superscores the SAT and recommends that you report all scores.

2. Columbia University: Superscores the SAT and requires you to report all scores.

3. Cornell University: Superscores the SAT and requires you to report all scores.

4. Dartmouth College: Superscores the SAT and requires you to report all scores.

5. Harvard University: Considers the highest scores across each section of the SAT and requires you to report all scores.

6. University of Pennsylvania: Superscores the SAT and requires you to report all scores.

7. Princeton University: Superscores the SAT and recommends that you report all scores.

8. Yale University: Superscores the SAT and recommends that you report all scores.

Keep in mind that these policies are subject to change, so it's always a good idea to double-check each school's website before submitting your application. Overall, Ivy League schools are quite accommodating when it comes to superscoring, helping you present the best possible version of your test performance during the application process. Good luck!
