Highest ACT or SAT score?

I'm currently studying for standardized tests and was wondering what the highest possible scores are for the ACT and SAT. Also, are the scores for each section within the total score? Trying to set some goals for myself!

The highest possible score for the SAT is 1600, with the test consisting of two sections: Evidence-Based Reading and Writing (EBRW) and Math. For both sections, the scores range from 200 to 800, and they are combined to create your total score.

On the other hand, the highest possible score for the ACT is 36. This test comprises four sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. Each section is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, and the composite score represents the average of the four section scores, rounded to the nearest whole number.

As you prepare for these standardized tests, it's important to understand which exam suits your academic strengths better. Some students excel on the SAT, while others perform better on the ACT. You might consider taking practice tests for both exams and seeing which one feels more comfortable to you. Remember, top colleges will accept either test, so focus on performing your best on the exam that best matches your strengths. Good luck with your test preparation!
