What does an A/B average convert to in terms of GPA?

My school uses a letter grading system, so I was wondering what an A/B average student's GPA would typically be? My transcript doesn't indicate my GPA, so any guidance would be much appreciated!

An A/B average can be interpreted as a mixture of A's and B's in your courses. In a standard unweighted GPA scale, an A typically is assigned a value of 4.0, and a B is assigned a value of 3.0. If we assume an equal distribution of A's and B's, we can estimate an A/B average to be around a 3.5 GPA. This, however, is a rough estimate and could vary based on the specific breakdown of letter grades in your courses.

Keep in mind that some schools use a different grading scale, such as one that includes pluses and minuses (e.g., A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, etc.), which can slightly affect the GPA calculation. Additionally, other schools use a weighted GPA, where taking more challenging classes like honors or Advanced Placement (AP) courses could result in higher-than-4.0 GPA values.

If you need to calculate your GPA more accurately and present it to colleges during the application process, you can search online for a GPA calculator where you input your letter grades and the type of courses you've taken (regular, honors, AP, etc.). This will give you a more precise GPA based on your particular circumstances.
