Official SAT Scores Required for UT Austin?

Hi! I'm applying to UT Austin soon, and I was curious whether they require official SAT scores sent directly from College Board, or if they accept self-reported ones during the application process and then ask for official ones if admitted? Thanks in advance!

Hi! For the 2024-2025 application cycle, UT Austin has transitioned back to requiring standardized test scores, specifically the SAT or ACT, for all applicants. UT Austin does indeed require official SAT scores to be sent directly from the College Board when you're applying. Self-reported scores during the application process will not be accepted, so it's important to ensure you request that your official scores be sent by the College Board ahead of the application deadline.

Make sure to check the specific deadlines for Early Action, Regular Decision, or any honors programs you might be interested in, and allow some time for the score reports to be sent and processed.

On a separate note, if you're looking for tips on how to strengthen your overall application to UT Austin, beyond just test scores, check out this blog post from CollegeVine, which breaks down how to tackle their application essays: https://blog.collegevine.com/how-to-write-the-ut-austin-essays/.
