UT Austin SAT score standards?

Hey y'all! I'm looking into applying to UT Austin and I'm curious about what SAT scores they typically look for. I understand that test scores are just one part of the application, but I want to make sure I'm at least in a competitive range. If there are any current UT Austin students or recent admits, please let me know what kind of scores you had. Thank you!

Hello! UT Austin is a great school and it's good to know their typical SAT score range. For the 2024-2025 application cycle, UT Austin has reinstated their test score requirement, meaning you will need to submit an SAT or ACT score.

Generally, the middle 50% SAT score range for recently admitted UT Austin students falls between 1240 and 1470. This means that 25% of students scored below 1240, while 25% scored above 1470. If you want to be in a competitive range, it's best to aim for a score within or above this middle 50% range.

However, keep in mind that UT Austin practices a holistic admissions review, so your SAT score is just one aspect of your application. They will also consider your grades, class rigor, essays, extracurricular activities, and other aspects of your background. So, if your SAT score falls slightly below the middle 50% range, don't be discouraged—other areas of your application may help make up for it.

Best of luck with your application to UT Austin!
