ACT conversion for SAT scores?

Hi guys! I've taken the SAT, but I'm considering taking the ACT as well. I want to know if there's a reliable way to convert my SAT score to an ACT score so I can set a target for my ACT. I've seen a few charts online, but I just wanted to double-check with the subreddit experts. Thanks in advance!

You're right to double-check, as sometimes there can be variation in the conversion charts. However, the official concordance table provided by the College Board and ACT, Inc. offers the most reliable way to convert your SAT score to an ACT score. Here is a brief explanation of how to use the table:

1. Find your SAT total score in the first column of the table.

2. Move across the row to find the corresponding ACT Composite score in the second column. This is the converted ACT score, which is estimated to be equivalent to your SAT score.

Keep in mind that this conversion isn't a guarantee of your performance on one test based on your score from another test, as each exam has unique content and structure. The conversion can give you a target range and help you set reasonable goals for the ACT based on your SAT performance, but it's essential to also familiarize yourself with the specific ACT format, content, and question styles before taking the test.

To do this, make sure you study from official ACT practice materials, complete practice tests, and evaluate your performance in each section to identify areas for improvement.

Best of luck with your preparation and ACT exam!
