Easiest majors to get into at UC Berkeley?

Hi! I'm applying to UC Berkeley next year, and I was wondering which majors are considered the easiest to get into? I'm still exploring my options and would like some insight.

While it's understandable that you might be looking for an "easier" major to improve your chances of admission to UC Berkeley, keep in mind that there is no definitive list of majors with more lenient admission requirements. Every major can be challenging, and what one person finds easy might be difficult for someone else.

That being said, if you are looking for majors that may have less competitive admissions, you might want to consider majors outside of the more popular ones like Computer Science, Engineering, or Business, as those fields tend to be very competitive.

When applying to UC Berkeley, you will have to apply to either the College of Letters and Science, the College of Engineering, the College of Environmental Design, the Haas School of Business, or the College of Natural Resources, regardless of your major. Each of these colleges offers a variety of majors, spanning countless subjects. Generally, applying to a less popular major in a particular college might be somewhat less competitive.

It's essential, however, to apply to a major that genuinely interests you. Admissions officers can often recognize when an applicant has chosen a major solely to increase their chances of admission rather than because of a genuine passion for the subject. Furthermore, pursuing a major that doesn't genuinely interest you may negatively impact your academic performance and overall college experience.

Instead of focusing on finding the easiest major, research majors that align with your interests and strengths. Consider the subjects you excel at and enjoy in high school, and explore potential fields that intersect with those topics.

If you haven't decided on a major yet, you can apply Undeclared to the College of Letters and Science. Keep in mind, however, that, if admitted, you would eventually need to declare a major and switching to competitive majors later could be quite difficult.

To sum it up, rather than seeking the easiest major, focus on finding a major that speaks to your passions and strengths, as this will help you make the most of your college experience and demonstrate genuine interest to admissions officers.
