What are the SAT requirements for Colgate University?

Hi guys, I'm a high school junior interested in applying to Colgate University. Can someone let me know the SAT requirements for the University? Do they have a minimum score or a range that they look for in applicants? Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Hi there! Colgate University is currently test-optional for the 2024-2025 application cycle, which means that you are not required to submit your SAT scores as part of your application. However, if you feel that your SAT scores are a strong point in your profile and will help support your application, you can choose to submit them.

Although there is no minimum score requirement, it could be helpful to look at the middle 50% range of admitted students to get an idea of the scores typically seen at Colgate. As of the most recent admissions cycle, the middle 50% of admitted students had scores ranging between 1470 and 1540. This means that 25% of admitted students scored below a 1470, while another 25% scored above a 1540.

Keep in mind that since Colgate practices a holistic review process, they will consider multiple factors like your academic performance, extracurricular involvement, essays, and recommendations, along with your test scores (if you submit them). So, while it's helpful to have a strong SAT score, it is just one part of your application. Make sure to focus on other aspects as well to present a well-rounded and compelling application. Good luck!
