How to decide on a college major?

Hey everyone! I'm a high school junior, and I've been thinking a lot about what I want to major in when I go to college. I have a few interests, but I'm not sure which one would be the best fit for me, both academically and career-wise. Can anyone share their experience in choosing a major or offer some advice on how to narrow down my options? Thanks so much!

Hey there! It's great that you're already thinking about your major. My child faced a similar situation when they were in high school.

One thing that helped them was to explore their interests further, through internships, volunteering, or job shadowing. This allowed them to gain firsthand experience and see if a particular field was something they wanted to pursue.

Also, talking to people in different industries can give you valuable insights into the day-to-day life and long-term prospects of various careers. Don't be afraid to reach out to professionals on LinkedIn or attend career fairs.

Lastly, remember that it's okay to change your major once you're in college. Many students find their passion after taking a few courses they didn't expect to enjoy. Good luck with your decision, and I'm sure you'll find the right major for you!
