PSAT 10 Scoring Details?

Hey people, I'll be taking the PSAT 10 soon, and I'm curious about the scoring system. Is it scored out of 1520 like the regular PSAT/NMSQT or is it different? Thanks!

Hey there! You're correct that the PSAT 10 is scored out of 1520, just like the regular PSAT/NMSQT. The scoring range for both tests is from 320 to 1520. The PSAT 10 and PSAT/NMSQT are scored on the same scale, which is slightly different from the SAT range (400-1600). Each test is divided into two sections: Evidence-Based Reading & Writing, and Math, with each section having a range of 160 to 760.

Keep in mind that the PSAT/NMSQT is also used for the National Merit Scholarship Program, while the PSAT 10 does not qualify you for this program. The PSAT 10 is typically taken by sophomores, while the PSAT/NMSQT is usually taken by juniors, although some sophomores also take the PSAT/NMSQT as practice. Good luck on your PSAT 10! Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.
