Easy awards to win?

Hey guys, I'm trying to beef up my college application with some awards or recognitions. Does anyone have any suggestions for easy awards to win that would look good on my application? I'd appreciate any help!

I would caution against focusing on "easy" awards, as college admissions officers are well-versed in recognizing the value (or lack thereof) of various awards. That being said, you can still find some awards that might be more accessible, depending on your interests and strengths. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Scholastic Art & Writing Awards: These awards celebrate creative talents in various artistic and writing categories. While not necessarily easy to win, they're worth exploring if you have a passion for art or writing.

2. School-based Awards: Speak with your teachers or school counselor to find out about awards offered by your school. Some examples might include awards for academics, character, or school involvement. These awards can carry more weight, since they show local recognition for your efforts.

3. Local Contests: Check with your city, county, or state for any local contests or awards related to your interests. For example, if you're interested in writing, there might be a short story contest organized by a local library or writing center. Such local competitions may be less competitive than national contests.

4. Community Service Awards: Look for opportunities to be recognized for your community involvement. For instance, the President's Volunteer Service Award acknowledges individuals who have contributed a certain number of volunteer hours in a 12-month period.

5. Clubs and Organizations: Join a club or organization at your school or in your area that offers awards or recognition for members who demonstrate strong leadership, commitment, or growth within the organization.

Keep in mind, however, that colleges value quality over quantity. Instead of trying to win multiple "easy" awards for the sake of having more recognitions, focus on developing your skills and passions in areas that genuinely interest you. Often, this dedication and growth in a particular area can lead to recognition and awards that hold more weight with college admissions committees. Good luck!
