How do I know if my teacher wrote a good recommendation letter?

Hi everybody! I asked one of my favorite teachers for a recommendation letter, but I'm not sure if it's going to be strong. Is there any way to know if they wrote a good letter? Thanks in advance!

Hey there! It's great that you're thinking about recommendation letters, as they play an important role in the college application process. It's natural to be curious about the contents of the letter, but you should trust that your teacher, being someone who knows you well, has written a strong recommendation for you. Typically, recommendation letters aren't shared with the student, as colleges prefer them to be confidential. However, you can get a sense of the strength of the letter by considering your relationship with the teacher and your performance in their class. If you've had positive interactions, participated actively, and performed well academically, it's likely that the teacher has highlighted these aspects in their letter. To ensure a strong recommendation, it's always a good idea to provide the teacher with a 'brag sheet' or a list of your accomplishments, extracurricular activities, and any specific anecdotes from their class that you think would be helpful in showcasing your strengths. Best of luck with your college applications!
